If you're trying to be healthy, add milled flax seed. You can find it with the flour at the store. It tastes great and blends in well. Make sure it's the milled so you get the nutrients. Otherwise I use vegetable oil because it makes better brownies and cakes than canola oil but it's good too, I think vegetable oil makes the cake rise better. I have used applesauce, the only difference is the brownies will be more crumbly.What can ii use instead of vegetable oil when making brownies?
