Can you put vegetable oil on your compost heap?

Technically, anything that is organic will compost. However, the wonderful smell of vegetable oil might draw some unwanted animals to your compost bin, including rats and possums.

I personally will compost small amounts of vegetable oil, such as plant-based food that has been sauteed in oil, and I will put small amounts in the compost bin, but in large amounts it is definitely better elsewhere, unless you don't mind some ';visitors.';Can you put vegetable oil on your compost heap?
NO!!!!!!!!! It would end up a great sloppy mass by stopping the air getting in. the oil would take about 2 years at least to break down. DON'T DO IT!!!!!Can you put vegetable oil on your compost heap?
No it should be disposed of properly.
Hiay

No

I went to a Garden Colleg

I got a NVQ 1 and 2
!!!No!!!
no wouldnt chance it spoil your compost
put aside a separate water but - half fill it with water, and then put a layer of the vegetable oil on top.

Use it to put all of the pernicious weeds that you shouldn't put onto the compost heap cos it doesn't kill them

after three or four weeks, the weeds will be dead and you can put them onto the compost heap!
doh
Put it on your wooden fence if you have got one.
no, the only things that go into a compost pile a biodegradable items, of which oil is not one.
