is it illegal in UK?Is it possible to run an unleaded petrol car off vegetable oil without damaging/changing to engine?
You cannot run a petrol powered car of vegi oil you can convert it to run on LPG. To get rid of your spare vegi oil you need a diesel engineIs it possible to run an unleaded petrol car off vegetable oil without damaging/changing to engine?
its not possible to run a petrol engine on veggy oil.it will run on petrol or gas only, lpg conversions are expensive but save a large amount on fuel,if you want to run on veggie oil then get yourself a diesel and a preheater.
yes, here soon will be,check this ethanol company that merge with a bio desel company.biofuel http://www.ussec.us/research-20.html for invester it symbol onyi or ussehttp://www.hotstockmarket.com/forums/sho鈥?/a>
try it buy an old banger from someone pour some in see if it works and if it does do it on your car if it dont you havent lost much only a few 拢100
No it can't work - it can in a diesel car though, although you need to buy an additive to the oil first. I forget what's called but google it.

As for legislation - you are required by law to declare how much you are using and pay duty on it (around 5p/litre) but they depend on you telling them about it so it's up to you how honest you want to be!!
A petrol engine wont run on oil its a diesel you need.

In summer you could run the oil straight from the tank into the diesel engine but in winter it needs to be preheated.

Its entirely legal but you need to declare duty to the inland revenue.
Its not illegal, its just not possible. You need a car with a diesel engine.
Your getting mixed up with diesel engines, it isn't possible to do it with petrol.
I have tried and I ruined the engine
It is not illegal and it will not hurt the engine. however, you DO need to make a modification to the car before adding vegetable oil to yur fuel.

They sell kits on the internet.
You absolutely cannot run a petrol engined car on vegetable oil. The compression involved would destroy the engine, not to mention the fact that the fuel injectors would block up pretty quickly. A diesel engined car would run on it, with an appropriate additive added to the fuel. It is legal to run your car on vegetable oil, but legally you must declare your fuel quantity usage to the tax man, and pay the extra tax, as the vegetable oil becomes a fuel instead of a cooking aid and is therefore subject to a different taxation class. It is still much cheaper than buying diesel, though.
Yes it is possible if you convert the engine with a kit and you strain all the crummy stuff out of the used veggie oil first.
no it isnt possible
no petrol engines will only run on petrol or lpg, u need a diesel engine to use bio diesel (veg oil) its not illegal to use like red diesel but it is illegal not to pay fuel duty which realistically makes it illegal
It depend on type of oil, all oil was vegetable oil once.

However common or garden vegetable il will barely burn so engin wont start, and methanol which is the usal vegetable oil need complete different carburettor setings, is illegal for rode use, and typically get 7 mpg where usalie get 35, American race cars Indycars ant Champ card uses it and lots dragster also cept they get 4 gallon to quarter mile.
