Olive oil, Crisco, butter or margarine. What can you substitue for vegetable oil.?
Substitute butter for vegetable oil in cakes. i think i read somewhere you could use applesause too. It depenends on what you are doing. If your frying and want to sub. try canola oil better for youWhat can you substitue for vegetable oil.?
sunflower oil ,olive oil depends what you are doing with it
I would suggest Olive Oil. It is more expensive but healthier.
MY FAVE? APPLESAUCE - it makes a great substitute!
I use extra virgin olive oil. Canola if I don't want the flavor of olive oil. Or even butter!
If you are baking people often substitute an equal amount of commercial applesauce (mussleman's for example) for the vegetable oil. All the other oils mentioned by people are ';vegetable'; oils except for the mineral oil which while digestable might give you diarrhea!
Melted butter or lard etc would probably work but they are generally considered less ';healthful'; at least for most people.
Canola oil is what I have used in place of Vegetable oil. I didn't notice a difference in the way the cake tasted or in the way fried chicken tasted. Olive Oil, although healthy has a slight olive taste to it and I wouldn't recommend it for baked goods.
Canola Oil.
Olive oil
That would depend entirely on what you were using the vegetable oil for.
Canola or light olive oil are good healthy alternatives. I usually use the light olive oil.
Besides the mineral oil, they're all made from vegetables.
If you don't want vegetable oil, try LARD. It's very tasty but not too healthy.
sunflour oil its better for you
Has anyone suggested extra virgin olive oil? It's the good oil and works just as well as vegetable oil minus the bad fat. You can also use lite smart balance or regular smart balance for your stir fry meals.
In cooking? Well you can try peanut oil if no one has an allergy to peanuts.
There's also nothing wrong with plain water, too.
